This foundation paper is used for Sharon Schamber's machine applique technique. Once the edges of the applique piece are turned and the piece is sewn on, this foundation stays in the piece. After washing, the foundation dissolves and softens, it turns into fiber that acts as a trapunto effect for the applique.
